we have some fog trying to get going out there this morning, although visibilities are in check so far. we are cooler than yesterday morning.. in the 50s and mid 60s, but still warmer than the 30s we should be at this time of the morning. dewpoints are dropping, too, and will be more comfortable today. a cold front tracking through is hillary clinton is taking time off the campaign trail to prepare for the last presidential debate. this comes as more questions are raised about e- mails. as edward lawrence tells us -- rigged. but that new e-mails prove corruption. donald trump says newly released state department emails show a scandal he calls worse than watergate.

new poll said only 34-percent plan to vote "no." a drug being used in iowa legally and a hundred percent natural -- could land on the same list as heroin and ecstacy before the end of the year. kratom is made from a tropical tree that's native to southeast asia. in the u-s -- people use have been at least 15 kratom-related deaths in our country, in the past 2 years... "in low doses or in small amounts can have a stimulant like effect. when in larger amounts can have a sedative or opiod like effects." the d-e-a is allowing a public comment period about kratom through december first. letters can be written both for and continuing coverage this morning... smoke detectors are being credited

the alarms woke up rex ackerman yesterday morning when his clarksville home caught fire. he got out just in time. have, keep your batteries changed, and constantly monitor them. it saved my life." investigators are still looking into what started the fire. a motorcycle crash sends a man to the hospital. it happened on highway 30 in linn cou clinton, was riding his bike when he lost control and fell in the median area. he was airlifted to the ok. he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. an iowa man is accused of injuring two officers after trying to fight them off during an arrest. drew edwards of maquoketa is facing assault charges. he had a warrant out for his arrest on drug charges and tried to run away from officers. one officer was taken to the

person on the other end of the line to listen to you calmly. not hang up. a woman in texas is accused of hanging up on hundreds of 9-1-1 callers. she made her first appearance in court yesterday. her reason for hanging up on people? ---- she allegedly said saying quote "ain't nobody got time for that." "we looked at phone calls reason to believe someone was actually reporting an approximately 825 calls." she's been fired from her job at the houston emergency center -- and could face up to two years in

kidnapped. turns out -- the girl actually stole -- and then crashed -- her mother's car. police in florida received a call saying her 11-year- old daughter had borrowed the keys to her s-u-v to get a school book out of the car, then didn't return. the mother also reported the car missing. police spotted the car -- with the pre-teen behind the wheel. police say she refused to stop. "i was driving lawfully in my lane and then the next thing i see is police lights coming, and then a car coming towards me. and then i guess that girl was happened". another car, ending the chase. she was taken to the hospital as a precaution, and will is facing charges. the house where adolf hitler was born -- is being torn down. austria's government announcing it plans to replace the house. it wants a new building that has police officer. take a look at this dashcam video out of minnesota. the officer is helping a

cameras may be able to catch some areas of fog this morning...although most is light... the worst will be around gravel roads and fields being harvested. this is after a very warm october day... highs got close to record levels in many areas... and tied the record in iowa city, previously set in 1950. it won't be as warm or mild... temps this morning are in the upper 50s to mid 60s in our viewing area with some 40s to the west. dewpoints are dropping and will become more comfortable as a cold front tracks through... that is turning the winds to the northwest... where they will stay around 5 to 15 mph much of the day before dying

from the north, but there isn't a lot of moisture with either front... we will mainly see the less humid and cooler weather tracking in. it will be mild, although not as warm or humid as monday. afternoon temperatures will be in the mid 60s to low 70s with northwest winds on the gusty side. winds will die down tonight and we will drop mild day in the 60s for wednesday, but it will be mainly cloudy with light winds. another cold front tracks in wednesday night and may squeeze out a stray shower, but we will mainly notice the temps only in the mid 50s for highs on thursday with a frosty morning for friday. we will warm back to the 60s for the

water still rising -- more than a week after hurricane matthew hit the carolinas. one river in south carolina breaking a flood record set in 1928. it didn'tre the overflow from the river is now chest deep and up to windows of homes. rising waters during the hurricane didn't stop one woman -- when she went into labor. she called for an ambulance but was told there would be a delay because of all the flooding. so - she decided to walk. five blocks later -- someone picked her up and gave her a ride to any mother will go through

day. but we've also heard about others that won't. including one that will open an hour earlier. macy's says it'll open its doors at 5 p-m on thanksgiving. most locations will stay open until 2 a-m, before reopening at 6 a-m on black friday. a new study finds nearly two in three americans are limiting their monthly spending. and there's a new reason why. it says 65 percent of americans are limiting their spending each month... and the top reason is to save more money. the survey says it's the first time in four years that the top reason wasn't lack of income. good news for the dollar -- it's at its highest point since march. it's up three percent compared to money in other countries. that puts it above the level seen after the brexit vote in the united kingdom. now -- wall street is predicting a better chance for a fed rate hike in

this duck is an emotional support animal -- and flew on a plane recently to support a passenger worried about flying. according to his owner... daniel is a four-year old indian runner duck and certified for his emotional support services... despite not being able to fly himself. firefighters go beyond the call of duty. after responding to a medical emergency, the rhode island firefighter finished the homeowner's yardwork. the elderly man told them he was "more concerned" about finishing the yard than about himself. they decided to take action. they said they were happy to

it's troubling. congressman blum actually co-sponsored a bill that could make it legal for a woman to be fired and blum tried to defund planned parenthood, even though women depend on it for critical care, like cancer screenings. i was diagnosed with breast cancer, and i know it was early detection that made a difference. it's not a political issue. it's about caring about all of our people here in this country.

weeks from today is election day. this morning -- donald trump says he's worried about voter fraud. trump fired up supporters last fraud is more common than people think... they even want to try to rig the going on. do you ever hear these people, they say there's nothing going on. people that have died 10 years ago are still voting, illegal immigrants are voting. i mean, where are the street smarts of some of these politicians? they don't have any is right." many studies have shown voter fraud is rare. in one case -- a new york law school did find many reports of people voting twice or ballots those happened in large part because of clerical mistakes. iowa governor terry branstad says he has confidence in the voters -- but also says .. he's been concerned about the "let me just say it's not just

"today i can say to mr. trump vote will be counted if you're an eligible elector." hes ballot system as an extra safeguard against internet hacking. billy bush is out at n-b-c. he's been fired from the today show. last week, he was suspended after a tape from 11 years ago was released. on the tape bush is heard laughing as donald trump talked about how fame allows him to do what he wants to women. bush spent 15 years at "access hollywood" before moving to the "today" show about two months ago.

speech is being stolen. he says people have been stealing his political signs for months. it's gotten to the point he put up caution tape and chicken wire -- and "well, i'd sure like them back and i wish they would quit because youre violating my 1st amendment rights." he says he doesn't know who's doing it -- but believes he's being targeted because he's backing trump. not guilty pleas for two people facing charges after a four-year- old girl dies. chad little is pleading not guilty to first degree murder. gracie buss was found unresponsive in her home in waterloo last year. she later died at the hospital. autopsy results show she died of severe trauma to her head. gracie's mother and little's girlfriend, kristi buss, is charged with child endangerment. she's also pleading not guilty. their trial is set for november

that's what cedar falls police believe happened yesterday in a parking lot. adam jacobsen is accused of stabbing two people. he's now been charged with attempted murder. it happened at the university avenue studios on monday afternoon. jeff miller -- who's 62 -- was stabbed first. police say his injuries could be life threatening. denice bennett was then attacked. she's 47. she's also in the hospital with serious injuries. autopsies are now being done after two people died from gunshot wounds in winneshiek u found dead in freeport sunday night. witnesses say they heard gunshots coming from the home. the two had dated and they recently broke up. we spoke with one woman who says she found the bodies. "i started yelling, i found them, i both deadth, ey're both dead." the sheriff's office says they're not looking for any suspects. kwwl did ask law enforcement if

today in court -- the man accused of firing shots inside a planned parenthood. robert dear is being treated at the colorado state mental health institute. a few months ago -- the court said he was not fit to stand last november. today, a memorial will be held for two california police officers who were killed. they were shot after being called to investigate a domestic disturbance. one officer was a 35-year veteran of the force. the other officer killed had baby. new video shows an airstrike targeting a site being used by isis in iraq. this video is from the department of defense. yesterday, the iraqi prime minister said they are move -- trying to retake mosul from isis -- two years after iraq's second- largest city fell. more than one million people live there. this morning, a wildfire is burning

-- which has burned at least 13-hundred acres. the fire broke out yesterday morning. firefighters don't know how it started. another fire -- this one along the pipeline being built in iowa. it happened in jasper county -- east of des moines. the fire damaged a backhoe and "it was a little intimidating gotta come out here. it's a big ball of flames." construction of the pipeline led to protests in iowa and other states. might have been set on purpose. there was a fire near the same spot last month. a milk surplus is putting a strain on iowa dairy farmers. the problem isn't only happening in iowa... but across the country. the wall street journal reports... u-s dairy farmers have already dumped 43-million- gallons of milk so far this year. however -- the iowa state dairy association says farmers here our processing plants in the midwest especially in iowa we use a lot of our milk probably
